Jumping with 300 ping or more is possible and can still be fun (:

Follow the steps stated on the following topic to help you start your own server.
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=10136

Instructions to play a custom map on your server can be found here:
http://www.codjumper.com/maps/index2.php?game=cod4
( It might however not work, it is therefore recomanded to also copy your map files in mods/codjumper, to avoid little issues. )

It will be a bit more complicated if you wish to jump with your friends;
Fully open your console, type /showip, and you'll get your ip ( it won't have any port )
Give that IP to your friend, and tell them to connect through it, by doing "/connect <your ip>" ( Once again, it'll not have any port )
note: this will only work as long as your computer isn't plugged to a router

If you are however owning a router, you'll have to open some ports and etc, the walkthroughs to do so will differ depending on your router, you should be able to get some informations about how to open ports, by simply using google (and obviously stating which kind of router youre owning).

Ah pretty cool. Sadly I can't help you since I'm no server wizard :(

Thinking of donating it ?

Yeh ther are a few Aussie jump servers but I don't think there is a normal one. I've seen about 4 and all of them are old school :(
