Let's hope Bad Company 2 and MoH:2010 are very good. Then there is absolutely no reason to get the new CoD.

MW2 is still ok. But this is taking things too far.

We've all seen it coming though

Has nothing to with WoW style gaming, or people paying for it. With woW you are paying for 24/7 support and patches and hotfixes weekly.

I cannot see how IW could manage to produce a pay-plan style game based on FPS gameplay, it wouldn't make sense. There is no reason for constant updates and no reason for 24/7 support.

It'll never work.

If this is true then a very big, final GG to Activision.

I really hope MOH is good, because I'm not a massive fan of BFBC2.

Pay to play does NOT work well on consoles.

Console gamers WILL NOT pay for this and we all know CoD series is very console orientated.
They WILL however introduce Pay2Upgrade or Pay2Perk style games, where if you want to have the number 1 weapon, or a new pink handbag to run around with, you need to pay... Now, that I believe will work.

You overestimate the intelligence of console CoD players.

Agreed.

If this is the future of CoD, I'm moving to WoW, sticking with CoD4 (if it isn't completely dead in a year or two), or moving to another FPS (might try CS:S or MoH later).

My thoughts exactly.

WoW adds loads of content.

The only things CoD7 can add is more maps and probably more silly stuff (Like Drofder said) like weapons and dumb skins.

But, on a serious note, they will not pay it.

Console gamers are like Americans and the price of 'gas', you make them pay more than the used to and they cry and bitch.

There is a massive debate/rumour for Sony and the PS3 making users pay a subscription like Microsoft and that alone has caused massive uproar, just imagine the impact it would have for a single game trying it?.

To my knowledge, PS3 has ONE pay-to-play game, being a shitty arcade game.
And maybe adding to that list FFXI (again, an MMO).

Precisely, they'll whine and bitch non-stop. However, at the end of the day they're still buying the product even if it costs 3 times as much as it used to.

Pay to play will not happen. Pay to upgrade will.

source which claims that Infinity Ward is hard at work on a Call of Duty massively-multiplayer online game, which certainly fits the profile of a subscription-based title.

It will and it will be successful.

lmao, given the player limits of Xbox Live at this point, "massively-multiplayer" will be just about as massive as Peds' penis.

So you will have to pay a amount of money monthly to play the game?
That case i will try another FPS game or might be going WOW.
Have a lot of mates playing wow asking me to come. But the fact you have to pay every month really sucks.
But i rather pay for wow than for cod.
Ofc i'll play cod4 aslong its fun.

I've seen some post it on the forums already. So for all Europeans who want to start playing WoW and haven't played it before, tell me.
