My Dam FPS

Post by iGeNeTiiX » June 13th, 2009, 10:44 pm

Ok my friend told me to download this config thing, "Yitch3", i downloaded it, altered it a bit so that none of my binds were the same.. Then saved it in my profile.. When i load cod4 it says
Your PC has been changed since the last time you opened cod4 or something like that.. Do you want to change the settings, Yes, No..

I clicked on no and my graphic settings reset them selves, so i redid them and started a server.. My FPS was still low..

I clicked on yes and my graphic settings stayed the same, but my FPS was still low..

Is there anything else i can do to increase my fps.. It's like 30-40 at the moment, won't rise..

Also another little thing.. In my config_mp, there is bind F1 "vote yes"
bind F1 "toggle cg_fov 65 80"

So i changed bind F1 "vote yes"
to bind F9 "vote yes", saved and loaded cod4..

When i start my server, i click F1 and it says no vote in progress.. So it didn't change.. Now i'm thinking if that didn't change, maybe the whole folder didn't change..

Please help

be sure to check if " synceveryframe " is set on " no "

And basicaly, unless closing stuff running in the background, lowering your graphics with yitch3 is probably the only way to incrase your fps.

I've seen videos where the graphics are much much more simpler than Yitch's.. The sky is a plain solid colour, the objects have NO detail what so ever, just a plain colour... How do i do this.. It's probably my lasty hope.

Might be some kind of mod, if that's the case it wont be much use to you. And if it is a dvar, it's probably not allowed on 99.9% of the PB enabled servers.

It's kinda weird.. When i look up into the sky, i get like 80-100 FPS, but when i look down again, where all the detail is, it drops to about 30..

Same when i'm looking at a brick wall :\

It's the same for everyone, looking at a wall, or at the sky, with no action going on gives you more fps.

That is the reason it drops, detail.

The sky is a prerendered surface, when looking up, the game draw only the sky, nothing around you. When you look down, everything infront of you and behind walls (that are unportalled) are drawn, models, effects, etc.

The more on your screen the less frames that can be processed per second, hence FPS.

When you put the Yitch config in your players profile folder place thing. Make sure you make the config read only!
