Okay, so because v1.7 of CoD4 doesn't work on my PC (PB goes crazy, i've tried manually updating it etc everything nothing works), I obviously can't play in the CJ servers.

However i thought i'd try the mod anyway (for my own servers), I downloaded the latest version of it, added a folder "cod jumper" under mods and extracted the contents into it. I opened the mod, typed "/g_gametype dm" followed by "/map mp_strike" into console. Once the level fully loads, it gets stuck on setting up game, and comes up with error message "filesum/name mismatch".

I thought this may be because the CJ mod might only work with v1.7(CoD) , so i found a v1.1(CoD) jumper server, went into it and it automatically downloaded the appropriate mod. I then played in the server fine. I then went to start my own server with this mod that i downloaded in v1.1, did the same as paragraph above, same error message.

The folder should be called "codjumper" - no space between 'cod' and 'jumper'.

You'll also need to load the game in the codjumper mod through the Mods section of the MP menu before you do the /g_gametype etc.

Also that error is common for too many mods/custom maps. Move some (No need to delete).

It works now, only problem now is my punkbuster being gay in my own server >.<

I had problems with PB too, kicking me out of servers etc. I then tried to put my CoD4 disk in and open the folder (the one of the disk). There you see a setup called pbsvc.exe. Try to run that. Worked fine for me.

Manually updated PB and its alright now, but i still doubt v1.7 of CoD4 will work on it - not even gonna bother trying tbh ^^
