HDD Query

Post by Coontang » January 12th, 2009, 6:28 pm

Hi, i was looking at my hard drive after cleaning my pc out, and i noticed 2 cables going in - the power frm my psu and a red lead that i believe is sata II (well it connects to that on the mobo).

However, in properties it shows up as scsi...

I dont understand these but if i was going the hdd im after (seagate barracuda 7200.11) I need sata so im very confused now.

as far as i know scsi and sata require different connections? if not, im unsure, and explanation would be fantastic.

pic will explain better I hope.

Ha that's strange, yes Sata and Scsi. Scsi is really old, I have it on my 10 year old laptop :P.
