Weekend fun in Skegness...

Post by Pedsdude » November 20th, 2008, 6:05 pm

While I was in Zante over the summer, I (possibly foolishly, hopefully not) agreed to go to this weekend in Skegness. I'm off there tomorrow, spending Friday and Saturday night there, then coming back on Sunday.

Basically think of Ibiza in Butlins in Skegness, and that's what it is. I'm somewhat worried that it's gonna be horrible, but I've already paid a moderate amount of money to go so I'm not missing it. Just thought I'd let you all know in case I manage to die - if you don't hear from me by Monday then that's probably the case.

Hopefully it won't be full of charvs as I imagine it will be, but then again I thought Zante would be like that and it was actually very good fun.

Still, there are some big name acts there, even if some of them are unbelievably annoying *cough* Tim Westwood.

Here are the ones I recognise:

Pendulum (El Hornet DJ Set) - whatever that is, clearly not going to be THE Pendulum...
Alex Zane
The Enemy - not really into indie, but 'Away From Here' is a great song
Kelly Llorenna - :D
Judge Jules
Dave Pearce
Kate Lawler - the girl who won Big Brother ages ago, apparantly a good DJ...
Steve Sutherland
Skibadee

Wish me luck :P

Aye, but I thought Zante would be really chavvy and it actually wasn't that bad. But then again, this is in England so all the chavs who won't have been able to afford to go to Zante will probably be there... eek.

Check my original post, you made this post while I was editing adding the list of people going who I actually know of.

Well, a number of things happened, including:

- losing my SIM card and the back of my phone, but not my actual phone itself
- cutting open both my elbows from falling over on ice as it was snowing when I was hammered walking back to my room outside and consequently getting blood on my jeans
- getting to sleep at 7am after the final night out, having had no recollection of 5 hours from the night
- missing my train on Sunday, meaning I had to stay at a friend's house in Leeds and get a train the following day
- having some mates send dodgy texts from my phone to at least 20 people (mainly women), including the phrase "I wana lik ure hole and shat in ure arse tb xx"

Having gone through all of the above, however, I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and am glad I went. It was nowhere near as charvy as I thought it would be and honestly well worth the time and effort.

It would have, but most of them ignored it and the ones who didn't weren't too amused!
