COD 5 Demo soon???

Post by steveuk » September 15th, 2008, 9:35 pm

Ive heard there's ment to be a COD5 demo cumming out in a couple of weeks time, not sure if this is true or not, followed by the game 4 - 6 week later. I cant see this happening myself, ok a demo maybe but the game 4-6 week later , what about all the bug reports that'll be sent in to the makers, i cant see them sorting them out within 6 weeks even.

i know patches will come out quickly as like they did in COD4, but that'll still take time.

Anyone know about this.. is it even true about the demo cumming out in October.

Tis is just hear say, and would be intrested in knowing more.

Well that's their choice, if they want to released a bugged game then that's up to them, but personally I think they should release a bit bigger demo, then that will ease our wait for a while, then release the actual game at Christmas when they fixed the bugs they spot?

1 thing ive not yet seen is the full spec ofthe game, what kind of PC do we need to run the new Cod5 game, will we need to upgrade again, or will our Pc's be ok, like will it be the same spec as the COD 4 requirements.

Steve

Edited ok i just found this, the following PC requirements needed to play Call of Duty 5
Image
Treyarch has put out the minimum system requirements to play the upcoming Call of Duty: World at War. Just looking at these reminds me how often you need to upgrade your PC to be able to play the latest and greatest, which is pretty much why I’ve moved to console only gaming. I know…I’m missing out on the best gaming, but frankly I don’t miss PC games all the much. Sure the odd few here and there, but the majority of games hit consoles too and they’re just fine for me. i don’t have to worry about my CPU and all that other junk.

Anyway, here’s the goods for the game due out Q4 of 2008 for PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
Call Of Duty 5 System Requirements Revealed
Call of Duty: World at War Minimum System Requirements (via 9lives):

•CPU: AMD 64 3200+ / Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz +
•Memory: 512MB (XP) or 1GB (Vista)
•HD Space: 8GB <
•Graphics Card: Nvidia 6600GT/ATI Radeon 1600XT or higher (Shader 3.0 or better) with 256MB memory

System Requirements (PC)
Based on Call of Duty 4 we expect Call of duty 5 to have slightly higher demands. So we are proposing that Call of duty 5 have the recommended system requirements for Call of Duty 4. However this is not confirmed and is at this point only a theory. Confirmed System requirements will be posted when we have them.

- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo processor
- System RAM: 2GB
- Video card: DX9: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512MB RAM (NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT or better). DX10: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 or better
- Sound Card: Sound Blaster X-Fi series (Optimized for use with Creative Labs EAX ADVANCED HD 4.0 or EAX ADVANCED HD 5.0 compatible sound cards
Call of duty 5 is going to be the fifth addition to the Call of Duty series, or 8 if you include all the current expansion packs and any console versions.
The news of this new addition was confirmed on December 2, 2007. The expexted release date is sometime around March 31 2009 which is the end of Activision's fiscal year. The game will be available on the following platforms: XBOX 360, Wii, Playstation 3, Playstation 2 and PC.

Some cool ScreenShots found here..

I like the last one best as a piece of art, but for a game cover number 3.

Cesar Stastny: Treyarch has worked on various games during the last decade so we had our own engines, including the one on which all the Spiderman games were built. For Call of Duty: World at War, we chose the original Infinity Ward Call of Duty4: Modern Warfare engine as the base technology. Call of Duty 4 is widely considered the best cross platform game to date (Xbox 360/PS3/PC), so it is logical to consider its engine as the best next generation cross platform as well. We chose it for its excellent lighting and game scripting. We enhanced the existing Call of Duty 4 engine with visual improvements, new effects, cooperative multiplayer, as well as using Activision's proprietary DemonWare technology for online, lobbies, matchmaking on PC and PS3 platforms which do not come with the equivalent of Xbox Live.

Whatever happened to the images of a soldier looking back and screaming for backup? They dropped that style with CoD4, which I find is a bad idea.
