Advice for a beginner cod4 jumper.

I have read the tutorials on strafe jumping and understand most of it. Sometimes I have problems like I try the pipeline jump from roof to white van to roof on otherside and usually die from hitting the wrong zone.

So I was just wondering what are some general tips?

I am aiming to jump on the glass I am guessing? After I am in mid air am I supposed to hold forward or just let go of directional keys?

I practice the strafe jump all the time (without doing any bounces) to get the hang of it. But I have problems generally when I try to aim for a jump. Seems like I never land on the right spot to bounce and what not.

So, sorry if this has been asked plenty of times, but I have tried reading tutorials and stuff.

If you've gone through the tutorials and practiced alot I think all that you need is somone there to guide you a couple times. I personally have aided several people in making not only the pipeline jump, but crossfire, strike, etc as well. If you want I can try to give you a hand, but I dont know if I'll be busy or not... School's a little hectic right now with finals coming up and my youtube videos have brought in a lot of people asking for help lol.

That jump on Pipeline is a difficult jump, I very much doubt you'll be able to make it any time soon - I've been strafe jumping since December 04 (although on and off, so I'm not that great) and I can't make that jump (I can get height off the van, but not enough to get on roof because I jump from further forward).

Although the video was made from CoD2, the same technique applies to CoD1, UO and CoD4.

As for which keys to hold, once you have flicked your mouse in the direction you want to go, you should hold forward and look straight at where you want to go.
