Map uninstall question.

Post by steveuk » December 21st, 2007, 5:41 am

ok just a question.
When new maps are installed with patches, like the new Crash Snow map, where are they installed to, and if say people wanted to uninstall them, how would they remove the maps, like what location on the directories would they find such maps..

Not just talking about this map,i mean any custom map, say when custom maps do appear and maps get downloaded to your PC, where would we find them to remove them.? not saying i will uninstall Crash Snow map, but i like to kow where they are placed. I couldnt see it in the Main folder.

normally in the main folder most likely, however since its an iw map it will be in the core .iwd files or some new .ff files installed with the patch.

Inside the main folder are IWD files, inside the IWD files are fastfile files, inside the fastfiles are the d3dbsp files.

Custom maps will be exactly the same, except they will be found inside a folder called "CustomMaps" which will be found inside the mods directory.

All map downloaded will go inside the folder, everytime. It is the new global custom map folder which allows every mod to access them without them being in the main folder. you will NEVER need to 'uninstall' them, as they cause no errors as they are loaded "on-the-fly".
