Is there any way to hide that white text that appears at the bottom of the screen while recording in CoD1/CoD:UO? It gets really annoying...

As in the spectator? Just type in /cg_draw2d 0. You will have to enable cheats though.

no, as in the text when you type /record (demo name) in console that says the name of the demo and how big the file is in the lower left corner

cg_draw2d 0 works, doesn't really matter though does it? It doesn't show up when you watch the demo.

no, but it is annoying and it reminds me that I'm filming myself, detracting from my gameplay. If I do draw2d 0 then I also don't get a hud, which means no ammo stats or radar which is vital

There definitely used to be a way of removing the filename, I will go back and check my old configs...

ok, it takes away the name of the demo, but filesize and the text 'RECORDING:' is still there...

Or you could use an outside program such as fraps, but that brings down fps.

i'm going to record them later using something like fraps, but I want to make them demos first so I can rerecord what I want and make it in slow motion and stuff
