On medium graphics and 1280z1024, you are looking at about 175 (a guess). I have a 6600gt and get a constant 125 on all maps on medium with a max of about 300 looking at sky. Can run Dx9 on medium gfx with about 60fps and on high about 30
(but my CPU is 3.0 P4 HT with 1.5gb)

I cant lock 125 FPS with my comp.
EDIT: Can sombody explain me this post.
try reinstal your OS,it allways helps when u are sure than your card is running slower than it can do .if u cant get even 333fps with such a high end card like 7900gtx it must be OS issuses(allways recommended to reinstal OS afer new vga instalation to heve best perfomance),other possible problem is your cpu,it cant handle your vga,and thats couses lower perfomance.suggestion is to reinstal OS and OC your cpu Wink

I take it youre using windows?
What you need to do is put the copy of windows you are using now (by the way this is xp right?) back into your disc drive and reinstall it. your windows is probably set up to handle your last card before you used your new one. By reinstalling it it can take all the new information about the card and use it.
So basically just reinstall the operating system (windows or whatever)

I would go for the core 2 duo. As for the x2 4800, you can overclock a 3800 to higher speeds than that, only difference is the higher cache(2mb instead of 1mb) it's not worth spending an extra £150 just for 1mb extra cache imo.
