my map

im working on a map... theres 2 things i need to no.. wen i try to compile it says i have a leak.. how do you find leaks and fix them? also how do you make letters.. start from scratch? i would but i cant make N and D? please help ty

u get a leak if u aint got a skybox or its not fully closed

or if anything is outside of your skybox, like if you look on the minimap and the circle that goes around one of your lights is outside there :)

You'll need to use the clipper tool and shape the brushes to form the letters. Drofder made a prefab found in the tutorial section, DL here: http://www.team-apex.co.uk/files/vCoD_L ... rofder.zip which you might find helpful to see how he made those, or even use them if they're suitable for your map. You should definately learn to use the clipper tool if you haven't already done so though :wink:

my god luke, you are about as transfixed on the clipper tool as droffy is on caulk...almost

ok ive got everything working going good except 1 prob.. when i compiled my map to test it out it worked fine but when i turned into pk3 it didnt work on my internet server

well,, i did that and also it says "couldnt load obstycal.bsp" obstycal is name of my map

Have you got the bsp in the correct folder? it should be put in maps\mp folder

ohhhh wen i try to run my internet server with map my bsp wasnt in my maps mp folder

when you create the pk3 you need the mp folder containing the bsp file placed in the maps folder. Check other pk3 files to see how it should be.

hmm so i used to just turn the bsp into thepk3 with winrar.. so i turn the whole mp folder into a pk3?

Yeah zip or rar all the folders for the map, then change the extension to .pk3...you should have a minimum of 2 folders in the pk3, maps and mp. the maps folder should have a subfolder inside it called mp, which is where the bsp goes and any gsc files if u got any. The mp folder thats by itself should contain the .arena file. Like i said open up a pk3 file of some other map in your main folder to see for yourself, you can open a pk3 with winrar.
