Crash

[Soviet]

my friend's codmp crashes when he tries to load to the main menu. The screen goes black and an error message comes up. It has worked previously. He says the only recent changes to the computer is his sister defragged it last night. He has tried reinstalling numerous times. This is the error message:

Seen problem many times... fix = uninstall/reinstall.

best thing to do is:
unistall then remove the folder and files that are in ur cod and install again
then u be 100% sure u aint got the error again

Hello, i'm the one with the problem here. I am a friend of soviets and no one i talk to can figure out why this doesn't work for me.

One thing that happened though was that my sister defragmented the computer and did something, but when she has defragmented the computer before, nothing happened to my game, so idk y it would do it this time.....

Also, i have tried to uninstall and reinstall the game about 5 times, and the same thing happens. As for uninstalling the game then deleting the files, i have also tried that but when i go to delete the files, it says that it won't let me because the file is in use, and i can't figure out why.

So i guess the new question is, how can i delete the files when they are in use?

after you uninstall, try restarting your computer before you attempt to delete the files

Alright, all of ur guys' advice and suggestions did end up helping me out, and i got my game working again. But mostly is was soviet telling me to restart my comp before trying to delete the files, and y i didn't think a that is beyond me, but thank you guys for helping me, i really appreciate it!!!
