video recroding program

what program besides FRAPS can i use to record videos that can be viewed in windows media player or whatever, fraps cuts my fps down to like 15 (from a really high framerate) during recording, and really messes up the playback. also, it makes huge files out of small videos (1 min. = about 1 gig)

try lookin through some of these. I used vrtainment capture pad one time and i think it worked

Record a demo, then use fraps to record the demo. This way it doesnt touch fps.

Also, as for the huge files, using the video compression techniques in the stickys can reduce Gigabyte files to below 10mb (I once used DivX for codec, and reduced 800mb to 3mb).
