cod1 crouch jumping in gap records issue

someone has been complaining to me saying you can use 333fps in jm_motion and ultra_gap_training if you crouch jump and thinks it gives an advantage...watch the sylence260 demo(although don't know if hes using 333fps). i didn't think 333fps gave any advantage in jumping which is why there is no rule about it for cod1. but it is hard to prove 100% that 333fps doesn't allow you to jump further than 125fps, and everyone makes gap records in jm_motion or ultra_gap_training with the ceiling purposely low so you can't use 333fps without crouch jumping. so to make things totally fair, i could add a rule of no crouch jumping which will also mean you can record in cj_gap_training...what do you guys think?

i tried 333fps with crouch jumping etc. and i couldent see a diffrence ant.

personally i agree with lukes theory on this, you can get higher but overall distance is the same if not less

I've tried it out on motion and ultra_gap_training with 333 and the best i got with crouch jumping was like 248 or something. This sylence guy told me he used 125fps and crouch jumped 260

can't be possible, and i know he used above 125 coz when i spectated him i told him to stop crouching and it was obvious then

Perhaps more, maybe seems unlikely but who knows.

i told him to stop crouching and it was obvious then

Did he hit the ceiling or what? if he did hit the ceiling than crouchjumps should be banned.

Yes, he didn't get close when he didn't use crouch, because he was using above 125fps, but i dont know if he used 333, maybe more coz me and destiny have tried it with 333 and dont get close. so i voted yes to ban crouch jumping in gap records.

Ive said this in the other thread..
But ive heard of jumpers making 268 with crouchjump..
If that is the case.. then crouchjump will be to big of an advantage over non crouchjumps..

if we keep no crouch jumping with 125fps, we have a soid standard, there can be no uncertanty.

1. I can't get past 125fps
2. I can't jump anywhere near 260

it is so clear... if anyone do a crouch jump he is touching the ceiling by jumping normal

@ all ...1st look the demo of sylence then vote

and see his lazy jumping

I'm with you on this one...except I can't get anywhere near 231

But I am going to vote yes because I think there needs to be a standard set where everyone is on equal terms.

New rules?
-Anyone outside of UK is auto banned
-Anyone who uses an fps not exactly equal to 52.
-Anyone using their left hand for muse actions is banned.
-Anyone using arrow keys is banned.
-Strafing is banned.

Who cares imo, just ban anyone who has an ego bigger than their popularity.

tbh it wouldn't bother me if someone jumped 270 and i was in last place, but we do have a gap records page, and we do have people that want to compete and care about it, and it would be pretty lame if there were no rules, coz unfortunately there are a few that would abuse it. you've gotta give credit where its due, not to fake cheaters...i don't like all this fuss but i guess it needs to be sorted.

I hate to say it but I dont think there is a way of stopping cheaters.

Unless there was a mod that EVERYONE had to use to record their gap jumps. The mod would have to regulate all cvars, stop people crouching, stop 333 fps. (Its possible, but imo, not worth it.)
