button error... need help.

Post by aicaramba » October 27th, 2005, 5:11 pm

I had this problem for quite a while, but i thought id ask for help..

My keyboard cant do specific combinations of buttons.
example: I can sprint forward and strafe left, but when i strafe right, my computer doesnt do it and gives a beep.
This is very annoying for some UO sprint/strafejumps.
Ive heard that this is just a pentium flaw, but does anyone know a good (costless) way of fixing this??

This is a standard feature on every computer. If you hold to many buttons down at once, the computer will get angry and beep at you ;)

The beep is basically telling you the computer cannot function that many commands at once (I think).

It doesnt beep when i press like 3-4 buttons... It only beeps when i press a specific combination.
1 of those combinations turns out to be an important one :(
However.. the more buttons i press the more likely the comp. will beep.

doesnt depend on the computer, it depends on the keyboard as to how large of keystroke you can do

Just thought of something,

Keyboards are made of alot of tracks (dono exactely what they are called) which are located under your buttons. I once slammed so hard (during a nice game of Euro2002 ..don't play it anymore too costely  ) on my keyboard that one of those tracks was broken and every button on that track didn't work anymore. So my guess is that if you push and hold too many butttons (4 I think) which are connected to one track the Beep will follow but when you press a few buttons on different tracks you can hold more then 4.

Still no hard evidance found yet.

Thats a pretty clever answer, but still no facts.

I know, looking for it right now.

I'm gonna buy a new Vidcard and memory in about a hour so I'll ask it at the shop over there, maybe they have an answer (can't find it on the net)
