game goes invisible glitch??
Sometimes when i am in a game (its happened with a few different games) the game will freeze for a second and the screen will flash black, then i will just be on my desktop but the game is still running and its still open but i cant move mouse or anything so i have to press alt+tab or task manager to quit the game and then restart it, its really annoying im sure you can imagine when you are in the middle of a game and then this happens. does anyone know whats causing this and how can i solve the problem?

Added something new (software, hardware) before it happened the first time?

Hmmmm no no really the only thing i can think of is that i overclocked my graphics card but then i toned it down after it happened the first time so its barely overclocked now and yet it still happens. Its quite rare but when it happens its annoying.

Re: game goes invisible glitch??
Yeah heating problems seem to be it. I've had something like this happen before with my older graphics card.

Yeah i did think it could be overheating is why i then clocked down alot, and ive been doing some temp readings with speedfan and when playing most games my GPU is at about 70C but then when i was playing the BF3 beta it got to 82C which was quite alarming but i then found out on nvidia forums that the GTX 560 Ti's max temp is 97C but to keep under 85C is best so im not too sure about that.

Re: game goes invisible glitch??
Do you have a timeframe once it happens? Like does it happen every 30 minutes?

Re: game goes invisible glitch??
no it is quite rare i think its only happened about 3 times in 2 weeks. 2 times in cod4 and once in BF3 beta

Re: game goes invisible glitch??
its just happened again now in arma 2 operation arrowhead. i minimized the screen exactly as it happend though and saw in the bottom right 'nvidia display driver has stopped working but recovered' i remember getting this before and i updated drivers and since then i have reinstalled my current driver. also in case it was overheating i have upped my fan speed in msi afterburner and now i can play arma2 max settings and its only reachine about 65C
