However in CoD4 atleast I find that if I go in my own server I can get like 250 fps on highest graphics, about 800 on lowest graphics.
However if I go into a public, server with 16 or so people playing, I can get about 125fps on highest and nearly 333 on lowest.
Now I'm wondering since in both scenarios with graphics on lowest, there is nearly a 500fps loss, just because I'm in a public server with 16 other people, rather than my own server. Would getting a better graphics card increase my fps in public server, or is it another part in my PC that is limiting the fps because of the number of people in the server? Because from my logic (which I expect is wrong as I don't know much about PCs) because the graphics are the same in both cases, its obviously not the graphics that is limiting my fps, something to do with amount of people on the server and connections (again, I don't know if this is related to the graphics card).
If somebody could clear this up a bit for me I would much appreciate it
