Rcon Problem

Hi guys When i try to connect to my server with rcon it says it doesnt have a password when in my cfg it says it does and its annoying me aswell, because i cant make myself admin with set_adminguids either in cfg so can someone please help

Are you certain it's actually running your config? And just to confirm, it should be in the 'main' directory, not that of the specific mod you're using.

The GUID lines you want are:

I tried that and it still doesnt make me admin and also its in the 'main' Folder and i type /exec server.cfg when im about to run it and i dont get admin I got rcon to work but how do i promote via rcon tool?

Well "/exec server.cfg" will exec server.cfg in YOUR main, not the server's main. You have to do "/rcon exec server.cfg" to exec the one on the server. Besides which, if you're managing to login to RCON successfully and use it, then presumably it's already executed server.cfg.

Does it say anything when you join the server? GUID admin detected or something? If not, and it is running the config, then you probably put the wrong GUID in. Type "/rcon status" and write down your GUID (the entire thing) - this GUID sometimes differs from the one you get when you do "/pb_myguid", so make sure you use the rcon status GUID. Also make sure that your name is exactly as it is in the config on the GUID line - AFAIK this includes colour codes.

Finally, rename server.cfg to something less predictable like 43954i95server.cfg - there's an exploit where people can download your config file if they guess the name of it, and consequently get your RCON password. Simply rename the file to something other than server.cfg and edited the command line for the server accordingly.

Thats one problem When i do rcon status nothing comes up but i can login and do stuff like rcon g_speed

Are you using a remote program or are you actually connecting to the server and using the console?

I try both, i use console shift and ` and also i use just ` and i use remote either

Oh yeah only just noticed now it comes up with my ip and stuff and my guid.

Omfg im soo dumb i made the smallest mistake i had my thing as
set cj_adminguids

and when i changed it to set cj_adminguids "e54fd4c7340f0e211314f12dd9a7a44c,{ZS}Ben
it gave me admin lol soz for trouble guys but ive figured it out and also thanks killer for helping me with the rcon stuff and pedsdude
