Looking for a new headset

Post by Infinite » December 8th, 2010, 8:52 pm

My old one was vacuumed beyond repair, so I'm looking for a new one.

After looking for a bit, I'm leaning towards
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-7-1-Chan ... 007&sr=8-6
I already have a G15, and G500, and so far Logitech has been good to me. I know very little about headsets, so any suggestions would be appreciated :D.

It's marked down 38% on Amazon, and I wanted to get them a while ago so that's why they're my main choice atm. I've never had surround sound either, so that should be interesting :P.

Logitech all the way. I have one which costs around 50 Euros. It does the job but just like with mouses I need a week or so to get fully used to them.

How badly will it ruin it? I often listen to music when I'm not playing competitively, and it would be a pain to keep disabling/enabling it (unless theres a G button or something for it).

Might look into getting myself one of those G35.. seems nice, one thing that bugs me.

In the link Infinite posted, it is $80 (on amazon.com), equivalent of about £50. Yet on amazon.co.uk its £80 :(

G35 for the win! I've got one and it's awesome. 7.1 is excellent for hearing your enemies (e.g. S&D). Has good music quality too.

EDIT: Voice changing owns!

Ive got a creative fatal1ty headset, the one without the usb soundcard.
Reasons:
Its cheap (about $30)
It sounds good (not really great, but that might be because im used to real high-end speakers(mission 760i NOS recapped powered by a tripath ta2020 from helderhifi upgraded with some NOS westcap input caps (PIO), bigger buffer caps (10.000uF panasonic FC) and output coils replaced by wurth xxl 10uH))
Can disable microphone and completely detach it (not a bug, but a feature :P)

Did i mention it was cheap?
LMGTFY!

Its not a glitch... Its the future!

Agreed, I learned that lesson with your mother.
