Map compilation time - 7 days

Well as its the most popular chat on the site, im telling my question...

Ive made a map (CoD1) and am going to compile it with full lighting so that it should look like stock CoD maps, so i checked all the necessary options like verbose, extra and 40 sun diffuse samples. i tried compiling it, but when lighting stuff started going on, the compiler wrote 7 days remaining. lol well i thought 40 sun diffuse samples caused such a shit, but im wanting it to be compiled lit fully!

i cant keep my pc running for 7 days, so i decided i needed to find a person who could do it... if theres such a kind person on the site, notice me. also i would like to learn if the compiler tells the truth about 7 days being the compilation time, AND also if u know how to solve my trouble differently, notice me.

Does it just say it at the start? Because it usually doesn't give the most accurate time at the beginning. I can't imagine what you'd have to have to compile it for 7 days..

tbh i just remade the stock map mp_harbor and it looks even better and more detailed coz i added some stuff.
also i made portals for the map, not only ones that cover door and window ways, my portalling is similar to mp_harbor's one.
caulked everything that could be caulked.
turned boxes, poles and other similar things into detail brushes.
and so on :)

id be very glad if it turned out that it showed wrong time.

i tried waiting for an hour and it did only 0.7%

it says about 7 days while performing sun diffuse lighting. as i said, i use 40 some slightly obscure things called 'sun diffuse samples'. i think those are what the developers used to compile their maps so that they look so sexy <3 and exactly they slow the time down so greatly, lol.

Have you got the proper sky? The one on the radiant is just brush with textures. Harbor sky = sky/mp_harbor
and if that's not the problem, i suggest to lower your sun diffuse samples to 15 (close to original value) and slowly go higher and see what it looks like.

still consider me a naab? it's mp_harbor's sky! i just used the 'fit' option to it.

some time ago, a mate of mine compiled my map with 10 samples; i tested the map out, and it didnt look as nice and bright as mp_harbor - for example, the borders of the sun shadows were rather fuzzy and dirty.
