Gaming mouse.

Post by Infinite » January 19th, 2010, 7:08 pm

I have 60 usd and am looking to buy a new mouse. The one I currently have came with a computer which I bought 4-5 years ago, and I think it's time that I finally upgrade it :S. What I'm asking here, is for any suggestions/information to help me decide what mouse I should buy. Thanks in advance :P.

I use the Logitech MX518, before that I had the Logitech MX500 for about 3 years and had no issues with it. The MX500 series is incredibly solid and reliable.

It's not near as fancy as the sidewinder, with adjustable weight or anything, but it has some nice software with it to change the extra buttons which is often very useful. It is responsive, solid, and smooth. It's also quite a bit cheaper.

KillerSam wrote:The sidewinder comes with nice software also, to set up things such as "double tap" where you can click ones and it will double fire for you in certain games for example, or you can even set it to spin 180degrees in game with a button press, so you can toggle it to check behind you + forwards quickly and accurately. You can also set it to like for example empty a desert eagle in the fastest possible time without having it on a scroll wheel ;)
sexy :o. I might get that, but it's just barely within my budget, so I may get the mx518 since it's a bit cheaper :S

Not really a fan of Razer gear, although I know a lot of people are. In my opinion people seem to buy Razer stuff purely due to the name Razer and pay over the items value for them.
sam i no nothing about pc's or gear or what ever. I baught this mouse because it looked good lol. Now i used it i am very happr i baught it. I used to have a G5 (which was amazing btw) but this is like 10 times better!

Rawr!
(btw, I have had 2 previous mouses, and both have single-click breakdowns, but I have had offers for free replacement, just couldn't be arsed filling it out and sending.)

Any logitech mouse will suit you good, I think.

Personally I use a Roccat Kone, and it's by far the best mouse I've had, but it's expensive and not worth spending all your money on it.

Kind of an old topic but... It does matter, but I think it depends on the person.

For my mouse I put 4x 7g blocks in it. It may not seem much, but remove them and you'll surely notice there difference.

My mouse needs to have some weight, luckily the ones I buy are quite heavy anyway (no adjustable). Light mouses I just do not seem to be able to hold properly.
