Cod4 Ping is always high all of a sudden

About 5 days ago my ping in cod4 was about 35 to 70 in most severs i play, and 3 days all of a sudden my ping goes sky high im getting 600 to 999 and its unplayable. i've tryed reinstalling cod4 and turning off all my internet applications while playing but nothing seems to work. Any help is appreciated thanks

Any major changes you made at your system? You have maybe virus or trojan which can cause such internet activity.

The only changes really made to my pc is my new printer software and i installed megui and i also did a scan for virus but i didnt find anything i will try a scan again mabye it missed something thanks for the quick reply aswell

maybe some background updates from windows or antivirus software?

maybe somebody else in your house using your internet connection and download/uploading? p2p, bittorrent etc?
