Server help

Post by Lancast » December 20th, 2009, 2:05 am

I've seen on some servers, on servers without any mods, a weird console system. If you type, !nextmap, the console will tell you what the next map is, you can use !register to register guid and your names, !time to display the time of the day and many more. Does anyone know how is that done? Is it some kind of console bot? Ive seen it on few servers so it must be somewhere available to download, if anyone knows would be great.

It is not a mod, it is third party. Text based monitoring can only be done using a server side console monitor.

There used to be one called Big Brother.

I've seen this big brother bot but it seems like a lot of configuring however, I'll have a deep look into it. Anyway, is there any other program like this 'big brother bot' ?
Thanks.

That bigbrother bot requires dedicated server and mine is not. Is there anything similar but that could work for non-dedicated servers?

No, it requires connection to the remote desktop which is achieved by dedicated servers.

Exactly but servers like mine that are non-dedicated doesn't have option to connect o them remotely like you said and control, so I cant run any 3rd party programs on it, so I was wondering if there was some way with some other way ,maybe a script, or something else, dunno.

Nope, monitoring chat requires a console and third party. No other way.
