More info on MW2

Post by Infinite » September 10th, 2009, 3:36 am

http://www.mw2blog.com/mapmonkeys-help- ... ayer-beta/

Never heard of these "mapmonkeys" so I did a background check and they are a joke. They actually CHARGE you to look at most of the videos, and the ones that they have posted are obvious glitches which I wouldn't even consider to be half-decent.

Oh well, That's just my opinion of the bunch. Look for yourselfs and think what you want. It just saddens me that IW is actually paying them to find glitches on MW2, but on the other side, at least they are trying to find glitches and fix them before release, rather than do what Treyarch did.

Indeed, shame they don't support the community as much as they could do!

Something tells me that would have a negative effect
That is true... Matty, you need to think about this! It's all about psychology. If you go to other websites (doesn't matter what website it is) and ask for something, whoever you are asking it for will be seen as attempting to advertise, and will generally be looked down upon, thus making whomever you are asking it for, a less popular and liked thing.

Well, its a very good idea to have them to find easy jumps, and actually glitches, we'll therefore be able to enjoy our competitive matches without having 500 retards on every damn roofs, ruining everything.

Also, we'll still be able to jump with Cj mod, otherwise, they would simply clip every single roofs, and wouldn't need of any beta tester ;)

Especially, since the jumps we do on cj servers, are actually very hard and cannot do in game, or at least, cannot be done more than once in 500 match :P

They've also mentionned that they chose them, since they do actually report glitches, while we don't directly do it.

Also, if they'd invite Cj to test their map, we might actually end up killing cj itself, so I believe it is better that way.

I do agree with you on some points, but the fact that it would kill CJ if we did go into it makes no sense to me. There are still new jumps being found for CoD4 after nearly 2 years, and even CoD2 has a couple from time to time (I think >.>).

Actually, most of the recent newly found jumps have some starting position located on the classic oldest roofs, so basicaly, I believe that my point may still stand, considering those old roofs would be fixed, which would make us unable to find any new jump from these position.

I do agree that we'd still find a few more, but Mw2 would mostly likely end up like WaW (Everything clipped, and a lack of diferent kind of jump, such as rpg jump, and bounces)

Besides, you gotta remember, that we, at codjumper.com, jump on a simple fun, and community wise purpose, while finding jumps. Unlike mM, which basicaly find glitches & exploit, while those ruin the game, unlike us, which simply make fun in our own servers, jumping, and meeting people to sometime simply talk.

I'm fairly certain that somwhere it said that this community was created in order to help people find jumps which would help them in gameplay (can't remember where I saw that). As for your point of IW simply clipping everything, I doubt they would do that. In fact, they enjoy the jumps to some extent themselves according to 402:
Hey guys.

We're not anti-trick jumping. We love it when you guys find awesome jumps we've never seen. The only stuff we don't like are glitches that give you players an unfair advantage. So finding an invincibility spot, or finding a place you can't be killed but can kill others. That stuff ruins gameplay. Finding a cool way to get on a ledge or roof where you can easily be killed just as easily as killing other guys is fun in our eyes.

So the guys who help us out will be more helping us find harmful glitches to Multiplayer, not ruining all the trick jumps, because we typically leave jumps in as long as it's fair.

As for an update, Thanks for all the submissions we still plan to bring out a few of you guys out to help us, I'll keep you guys posted.
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5179&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=105 (citation)

As for them fixing most of the jumps in which we find, the reason above covers some of that, and even if they did fix them, we will ALWAYS find a way around at least one of those fixes :).

That's not necessarily a bad thing. That's like a website helping people with techniques on aiming and taking cover and saying it's unfair because it gives them an advantage over others. People are free to visit our website and watch demos should they wish.
