I gotta give it to them, those gametypes sure are awesome.

Also, the CoD4 mod according to the article is as far as I know from Counterstrike. I saw my brother play it and the idea behind it is really awesome.

Also, I like the in-game cash system. I hope it works out. It's pretty much the same as a level system but if I read correctly its focus point lies on cosmetics.

There are dedis, but rented from one company. Maybe they just want to keep it simple at the start and add more diversity later on ? Either way, it's better than Activision has been doing atleast.

It also gives GameServers somewhat of a monopoly to screw people over price-wise, not to mention the fact that they may not be able to cope with the amount of servers they may have to host :?

Some mod/hack team hopefully will fix something to start your own dedi.
Because the files to start a server exist.

All they need to to is /download it from the host server :)
This sounds easier then it is I think...

Probably locked to certain server hardware / IP addresses i'd assume.
Then they need to brake in to the server room -> plug in a usb /copy /paste and yeaaaa :)

I meant would only host from certain hardware / IP addresses - in a similar way to a GUID.
Ow fail @ me

But just like the cod4 cracked server exe files this also should be breakable I think?

14,95$ for an 18 slot ranked Server
17,82$ for an unranked 18 Slots

18 Slots for Ranked means its only 18 Slots. You cant rent a server with lower/bigger slots. Thats confusing
An unranked Server can have up to 24 Slots..im more confused

Ok if there CoD-Credits to buy weapons and stuff i may understand that you have to choose...but wasnt in all other games that you can choose play ranked or not. And couldnt i choose as a server owner to run a mod or not?

I may completly misunderstanded this. A Ranked Server is kinda true were u can earn XP or CoD Coins or whatever...and the Unranked is like a private Game where i can run Mods?
And since there different prices i cant swap betweeen a mod and a "real" game.

And there no Mod tools out of the Box so for what is an unranked server exactly?
I've been watching you

"There will be mod tools, they aren't sure what they'll include, but they are hoping for map tools - we'll know more post release"
(emphasis is mine), that is from a Tweet from Josh Peckler (planet CoD)

Steam is a requirement, GG to all you steam haters :P
VAC is better than PB from my experience, I have seen very few hackers in TF2...

Servers are priced at roughly £11 - £13 p/m,
but with a single rental company only I fear the risk of downtime and potential bandwidth issues are high, as with all of these style of games, the servers are NEVER ready from day one >.>

The video makes me a little more convinced of the gametypes, not as bad as first read...

I could possibly warm to the idea of money, not saying its an interest I would want, but I could live with it. It depends on how it pans out in the long run and to what degrees it stops your progression.

Ranked = servers which are tracked for statistics and most likely where you can earn money etc, but you have LIMITED options that you can change. For example, you will not be able to change or limit the use on certain weapons. So basically, the rules are set by Treyarch and not the server owner.

Unranked = no recorded statistics and you have the ability to change any DVAR that is not cheat protected. It is opens the path for potential mods and maps.

Aslong as the money thing is purely cosmetics I think it's a cool idea Drofder. They just have to keep guns being unlocked by level etc.

Also, just wow, the last 2 gamemodes are pretty awesome (Everybody having the same gun and the tier of guns). Also, the idea behind the 1 bullet one kill gamemode seems really cool, but I probably wouldn't play it.

I hope they make this game move smooth this time, and balanced. The minigun for instance looked pretty sick but I hope it doesn't have 200 bullets and that you can just spray it.

I'm being a bit more hyped now I see that video.

The one-chamber game mode looks awesome. That video might have pushed me over the edge to buy this game.

If by preorder you mean reserve a copy at my local shop for no cost and the option to cancel without notice, then yes.

I have simply accepted that no CoD will ever be a Clan based game, I will buy it for the same reason I own TF2, a game for when I am bored...
