It's a hobby. It's a collection, certainly not stupid. But I wouldn't do it either.

I was around during those stages, and I did own cards. the only thing we used to do with the cards was having throwing competitions, how far could they be thrown in the playground.

Just because something was a craze, I don't look back and think "those were the good times", I look back and think "why the fuck was any following this shit".

Yeah same, Pokemon, then Bey Blades, then Yu-gi-oh, you spend 50 bucks on paper cards, then a few weeks later everyones playing bey blades.

Yeh, Japanese are weird.

I remember that Bey Blades, it sucked, rofl. Never liked that Yu-gi-oh thing either.

Pokemon is still going strong though.

yeah, we used to just trade them around and end up with stacks and stacks of cards.

I remember once when i was abhout 7 i asked my mum to buy me some cards, she bought me 3 or 4 packs for about £8 and i came back from school the next day after having swapping out all the shitty ones noone wants and i had about 12 cards out of the 50+ i took to school :x

Pokemon cards were banned at my school because someone gave a card to someone to hit another person

Anyway, I didn't pay much for my cards, but I managed to get quite a few rare ones ;) Got about 2 normal card decks worth of them in a draw in my room.

I remember them being banned at my school also, but I cannot remember why (or if a reason was even given)?

Bey-Blades, the Year 7 kids were playing them, but they lasted a week before they were never seen again...

I remember digimon's got banned at my school :P Because we just played/battled each other all lesson. And they'd make noise when people's evolved or leveled (whatever they did).
