lol Nietzsche is absolutely INSANE.

Also, remembered another of my favorites, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, by Ken Keasey, is one of the American Classics.

He's insane but he also brings up some stunningly accurate points about people. His perspective of humanity is so skewed he can examine parts the average person can't.

I haven't watched TV for the last 2, 3 year because it is complete bullshit. Though I find reading books pretty entertaining. Don't forget that and you can easily broaden your vocabulary.

And in an academic environment reading papers, books or other publications and writing them is mandatory to gain knowledge about complex coherences. But maybe you will get this experience when you get older.
I occasionally watch TV. I keep the history/science channel on in the background, and I tend to watch when they are playing shows such as "The Universe" or "Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman" due to my interests in general physics. I never mentioned watching TV, but I understand where you are coming from. As for my expansion in vocabulary, I don't personally care, and I was never an "A student" when it came to the subject of English.

Personally, I don't care about stories which don't apply in any fashion to my life. Most of the stories that I have read about are of little interest to me, and I have no passion for the subject of reading books when I could be learning far more from published articles or studies which have been posted online. I know that I will be forced to write papers for the college that I choose to go to, but that doesn't mean that I will like them any more or less.

You are asserting that I will not comprehend or learn detailed "coherences" as you call them, but that is not necessarily true. That's virtually the same as telling me that it's impossible to write without having a pencil and piece of paper. I can easily avoid using those tools by finding a marker and whiteboard, or using a computer to type on.

You are probably right about the possibility of me experiencing a need to read papers, books, or other publications along with the required composing of said materials, but I still refuse to believe that they are something which I will need to obtain a higher education in the future.

You still forget a very important point. If you only read pure facts and nothing else you won't be really creative because you only use some parts of your brain. You don need to link information with facts etc. You need to train that like most things! And I am not talking about painting a picture. Rather more ideas and know-how transfer things. I don't make a difference between reading a book or ebook though I tend to reading a book.

But you need to make your own experience. And in higher education it is important not just to have and idea you have to distribute it and there is only one way. The academic worlds lives on publishing. Though there are a lot things in the internet.

I read a lot of WW2 books. I've also got a couple of Eastern Front books and one about a sniper squad in Afghanistan.

I also read books from Chris Ryan, a former SAS members.

I read the Warcraft and Starcraft novels and like a year ago I bought all Resident Evil books.

A few months ago I fully read The Lord of the Rings. And damn, that was a bitch to read. It's fucking hard English :P Took me 3 months or so >_>

The Anarchist Cookbook by William Powell

The book itself has unfortunately gotten a bad reputation due to many news like these:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7030096.stm
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/engl ... 685636.stm

But it's kinda entertaining to read all the things you could have done in the 70s :D Most of the stuff on the book is useless nowadays, except the bombs, but i'm planning to not do them to avoid trouble. You should read it yourself but only read :P
