I dont think you should see it as disliking you/Mm, I think its a matter of being disappointed that IW didnt choose us.mapMonkey wrote:Please don't think the entire mM community is flocking here to defend ourselves, I just felt like I needed to post. Didn't realize we were so disliked :S

I can understand that they have chosen console over pc. Console games should be more bug free and they don't patch it so much.

Consoles are patched MORE than PC.
Scripting, and raw files can be patched on a rolling patch, like most MMO games. The only time PC get patches are in large downloads, we do not get rolling patches (even though it would be easy to do).
Simple reasoning...
You cannot play the game without patching on a console, so everyone runs the same patch number...
But, on a PC you are not forced to patch your game, so the less patches they release the more servers they have with the current patch...

I don't think you're particularly disliked, I just think that as others have said it was more a sense of jealousy / feeling let down by IW for them having mentioned the possibility to us in the past and then left us completely in the dark since.mapMonkey wrote:Please don't think the entire mM community is flocking here to defend ourselves, I just felt like I needed to post. I tihnk you gave Destiny the login details a while ago, but I do know the login details of a premium account (I don't know if it's the one you told us - definitely don't quote me on that!mapMonkey wrote:We tend to be pretty lenient with giving these things out, I believe I gave one to pedsdude back in the day (not sure though, don't quote me on it).

We pay around $90 / 2 years at http://www.bluehost.com - we get unlimited space and bandwidth, but as you say that's not always technically enough, and our website does go down from time to time (although only briefly) due to CPU usage.mapMonkey wrote:Pedsdude, I'm not sure how much you're paying for your hosting, but the difference is that you guys are hosting game replays, which I'm guessing normally don't exceed 100k. Each one of our videos takes up 4-30mb, which equates to a lot of bandwidth usage. We have a dedicated server because we've been kicked out of several shared hosts and VPSs before due to CPU usage and bandwidth usage (read: Unlimited bandwidth in the hosting business does NOT actually mean unlimited bandwidth)
Yep, I've come across the same problems too! Currently about to s tart my final year at university and KillerSam is now starting his first year of university, so we have very little time to update our website too, and most of the updates tend to happen during the holidays. This is particularly annoying when I come up with large project ideas that I don't have much time to work on, although fortunately I've managed to get a lot of work done over the Summer on our website, which will be made publicy in the near future.mapMonkey wrote:Also, the site (and accompanying business logistics) you see right now were created two years ago, when I was 17. I was naive, didn't have any business experience, and didn't realize it'd get to the point where it is now. I've had a bit more experience now and have plans to change things up quite a bit, which I'm sure will rid you guys of several of your concerns. I've been trying to develop the new site along with new business model, but my college/work schedule has been squeezing every ounce of free time that I once had, making it extremely hard to stay focused and finish it up.

Re: mapMonkeys Help Test Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Beta
For any mM members that may read the above two posts and misinterpret them as hostile, let me explain. Not only have we been around since 2004 (much longer than the mM community I believe) and have therefore been able to build up a massive repertoire of jumpers, including those who first attempted jumping in Call of Duty, but we also are a primarily PC based community, which gives us the obvious skill advantage due to our peripheral devices. It has been proven time and time again that due to our superior controlling devices and control over fps we will always be able to do things console players will not. It isn't that we think we're superior because you suck or we're better than everyone, it's just the facts of comparison between the communities.

This is what an mM member said, pretty much sums it up.KoBron83 wrote:Furthermore, yes, some do suck at glitching, same as here though, but you have no idea how much harder it is to strafe and glitch on console.

Re: mapMonkeys Help Test Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Beta
They're making it harder for themselves because they play on an inferior system.
Anyway, just a personal question regarding the game which should be allowed to give answer to.
Does the game feel good to play and do you guys think it'll be great even with all the newly added features ?

Re: mapMonkeys Help Test Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Beta
matty... your an idiot tbh. I played with nM for a long time and am now part of the clan, and I am a pretty decent jumper. I know alot of other people in the clan that aren't great, but aren't bad either. Hostage is part of the clan as well, and he's a good jumper too. And tbh... if we are a zombie clan (which we aren't), why would we even care about jumping? I doubt you actually taught anyone anything, as I learned from many better jumpers on those servers and cod2 servers.
so please, dont talk about things that you dont know anything about...
