Help

Post by YouBeenBaked » March 10th, 2009, 2:35 am

My new system will consist of an ATI Radeon 4870 PCIe video card. I have heard that it runs very hot...
So, should I pu t 120mm fan blowing air to it, or exhausting the air out of it?

My case has :
http://www.pccanada.com/viewitem.asp?id=7864 (how many fans are able to be put onto this case?)

- 1 rear 120 x 25 mm TriCool Fan with 3-speed switch control.
- 1 top special 140 x 25 mm TriCoolâ„¢ Fan with 3-speed switch control

Also, does anyone know what and how many fans are able to be put onto this case:
http://www.pccanada.com/viewitem.asp?id=7840 ?

Which case would be better for providing cooling of an ATI Radeon 4870?

Second case would be better as it has both a rear fan for sucking air in and a front fan for out, thereby creating a better flow of air across your video card. However, the case you have now should do fine. One of the computers I own actually has the second case you linked to and I like it a lot.

People build their computers because they are cheaper, personalized, easier to upgrade, and you can be sure you're using good parts.

Another question...
How many more fans can be added to the 2nd case?
If any, what type of fan? ie- 80mm, 120mm etc.

I think you can have at least 3 120mm fans in that case, maybe more
