It has always been common fact that staff reserve products (often for themselves/friends) by taking them off the shelves and hiding them away. Both GAME and the other Game Station in B'ham city centre had none available (I checked as I passed).
Happened to me before when I wanted to buy Super smash Bros. Brawl. +1, if you haven't downloaded patch 1.01, and have physx turned on, then it will keep crashing. I'm not sure why they didn't just add it in the game before release, but whatever. It's basically the same deal as cod:waw, they released a patch on the day that it was released xD.
