Re: Derren Brown.
No, they did not do any filming on the night I was there. This was running for a month and I got a ticket for the 3rd from last day.KillerSam wrote:Are you in the audience? I have a rough description of you if so, and shall spend my time trying to spot youDrofder2004 wrote:Channel 4. 10.00PM GMT.

If it's anything like his last live show, I can't wait to be amazed.

Re: Derren Brown.
Sadly it is nowhere near as good as his live performance of the glass-walking and instant bean counting, but his ability to still leave you wondering for a while is present.
(lol, nice descrip. KS, I was at a show, a chav is not likely to be present. My ginger is not the bright kind you can see in the dark

Ridiculous. The Gorilla bit took me buy surprise also. I enjoy'd it more than his last live show, personally.

Re: Derren Brown.
And you wasn't there...
But somethings do come to mind obviously as his "play" comes to mind.
Firstly, "S.L" and "Dick", happened at our night as well, so obviously just a small humour trick.
Secondly, The 6th person also got sent back, obviously to enhance the amazement, and to bring in the "S.L" above.
Also, the final thing he done with the numbers, my brother also was apart of that (I think he put his 'fave' number 8, so "888", but again, this one could have been easily faked (simply by just getting the final person as an actor, to say the date).
With the "object recognition" where he guessed the guys object was great at our night, he first guessed that he was carrying an hand-held game, which was the GBA (if I recall correctly) and the second thing he guess by looking at the obvious computer nerd was that he had Zelda in the system
Things to note for the skeptics, this happened every night for 5 days a week, for 2 months, roughly 40 days. In each production, to prove validity, they would have to have used in the region of 20-30 different actors per event, a total of 1200 people, 40+ different "predictions" for Derren to memorise, and I still to this day do not know how the flying table was done, I think, although I will check when its online, that it was something to do with the pointless name box, magnets and string [no matter how wobbly the table got, the box never moved].
He says he happily admits to not being able to read minds, but I would certainly be wiling to burn him at the stake.

Strong opinion are sometimes best left in your head. That's all I'll say, as a generic note for you.Drofder2004 wrote:And you wasn't there...

Fucking lost me also, hence my short, grammatically incorrect question.KillerSam wrote:Is that just a random statement that you felt like posting in this topic? Re: Derren Brown.
Anyway...
I saw the program he did with the "live seance". He did the table thing there and apparantly (when its moving on the floor anyway) the people are moving it subconciously. He used the pendants before to single out people who would be suceptible to the trick.

Re: Derren Brown.
Yeh, the table and pendant is an easy trick.
The pendant is unbelievably simple.
1. When he says lines up here, he is swinging his arm and pendant at the same time.
2. If you tell someone to do something, if they are not concentrating, it will happen.
3. He then tells them to step forward. This then creates the pendants forward motion, causing it to circle, the natural rhythm causes the bigger circles.
The table, is just suggestive comments. As the guy says, he doesn't want you to feel stupid in front of the audience, so you immediately want his illusions to work, with a small amount of pressure on some nicely waxed curved surfaces (table legs), the table will easily slide across the stage. At my show, the table tipped a little, which just happens to be what it is called, 'table-tipping'. It is how Ouija boards work.

Re: Derren Brown.
A Ouija board, although something I know to be fake and i don't believe in it at all, was the scariest thing ever in my life.

Re: Derren Brown.
Heard stories twice, seen it happen once.
The one time I did see it, was with my cousins in a park, very late... and they were all high and a little drunk.
I say no more

Anyway, didn't see this as I was busy, but will watch / download it at a later date.

Re: Derren Brown.
Have seen half of it now (downloaded it), and so far I'm not impressed. I don't believe in 'mind reading' and all that nonsense, especially getting things like 'whip' etc from nothing. The gorilla bit is obvious now that I've played it back
