Fed up looking for my charger for my other phone,so i decided to buy a new Fone today as a treat for myself.
I wanted to get a LG Shine, as they looked realy nice, but i was told there reception sucks and text messageing is a pain, and the scrolly mouse is a fast pain in the ass.lol so i got a VodaFone 810 instead. as shown


Having a bit of an issue trying to connect to PC now tho to transfer some games and music onto phone.. always get this on my PC.

it's on Vodafone, SHOWN ON BOX..LOL but im may get it unlocked for a £5 Fee open to Virgin as im normaly on virgin most of the time.

Yea i think it's a good price for all the features it has on it, still trying some out now, but fuck know why, it just wont connect to my PC so i can transfer some games to it... and yes i have installed the sftware even tho there was no CD, with the fone, ya just plug in the USB cable from phone to PC and some software starts installing ( Vodafone PC Assistant ) but it just wont connect to phone.. And yes PC picked it up as installed new Devices.??? just strange it wont connect.

I didnt take any notice of the box, i was looking at the phone itself

Only reason is cause im on orange, If you get a decent sim card you can get huge benifits (im on PayAsYouGo, every time i top up £10 i get 300 free texts, £4 online and 600 evening mins to orange phones, AS WELL AS my £10 all for the month. I use all my texts and online os im getting almost £50 of credit for an aerton senner)

- 5 text messages everyday for LIFE
- an orange bag
- an extra 1 minute talk time on every £5 top up

I still get the above features. They tried to remove the 5 text messages a day (a text message cost 10/12p ? so thats 50-60p every day for free, regardless of how much I top up or if I have £0.00 credit) but somebody took them to court and they had to reimburse everybody (they added like £30 credit to my phone at the time lol).

That is probably the most useful £15 you have/will ever spend! Great stuff!

Absoloute bargain lol, pretty sure it was summer of 2000.

Thats approximately:

3120 days of 60pence = £1872 of text messages for free lol, solid investment. The package was removed within a few weeks as I recall, and they started selling one that was only worked for 6months just afterwards, but I still have the LIFE package and they are legally bound to provide as long as the company exists.

My phone is the same as that steve (pc connection wise). It connects as a 'usb modem' unless I go to the phones menu and change it to 'external hard drive'. Then it lets me transfer stuff + shows up e.t.c.

how the hell do you set the phone as an external hard drive in menu.? is this the phone menu or PC menu.

It not even showing me the connection Port settings on the PC System Device Settings just shows Comms Port 1, but in Windows Exploroer tools, Connections/ It shows VodaFone Connection 1.?? Thisis pissiing me off now, thin i may try looking for my blueTooth Adaptor andtry it that way tomorrow. If i cant find the blue tooth will have to buy a newone for around £5 on Ebay.lol

go into my computer, plug in the phone. Wait a moment, if nothing pops up for 20 seconds or so, press some buttons on the phone and make usre theres a 'mass storage' mode that you havent missed.

Managed to get the Phone to connect to PC, Vosa Versa, i can now put Files onto the Phone via the usb link, bit the fucking games wont intall now, another problem, i found this site with shit loads of free games.

But when i copy over to games folder and click install i get a Faild to Varify Message. And yes these are Java Games and ment to be for the 810 phone..

Im going to try and install some Nokia Java files see if that works, not tried any Music files/ringtones, or themes yet, ned to download to phone first.

anyone know why i get the Error message when i try to install the games.?

Well still cant install Games via USB or via Memory Card on this VodaFone 810.??? , looks like VodaFone has made this Phone only to allow Games to be installed Via the mobile Web & Wap features, no fucking good to me, so i ve given the phone to my daughter for Xmas .lol i went out and brought another phone one that will install games via Memory card..

Just paid £94 for a Sony Ericsson W910i with £15 Credit added to the total, meaning inc topup & phone cost £94, not bad i spose, 1 miner thing im not getting a good signal on phone as i was disconnected 2 time2 out of 2 when talking to O2 customer support.lol lucky they refund me the Costs and gave me an extra £1 as a good will deed.lol

Well just adding like 2-300 Games to my Memory card now, inc COD2,COD3,COD4 & COD5 .lol not that i will play them all, but i can install them when i wanta play them..... also added 100+ themes, 200+ Ringtone, 100+ Wallpapers to, just hope i copied over the the correct part of memory card..lol
