Video Recording on a Console

Post by roxzor_of_sorts » November 7th, 2008, 3:29 am

So...
I'm looking to record some videos from my Playstation 3 and then go and edit them or whatever on my computer. I always hear that everyone is using Dazzle Video Recorder to do this with Xbox360s and PS3s, but when I went to amazon.com and read the description, buyer feedback, etc., I found it to not really look all that terrific.

Apparently you can only edit/record the media through the one program they supply to you, and that obviously then has a ton of limitations. Plus, I keep hearing of loss-of-audio problems, and loss of color, and just a bunch of bad stuff.

It looks to me like there has to be a better solution to console recording than just what everybody else is using  . The problem now is that i don't know of anything else that can record through the A/V cables to a PC...

Any help is appreciated
Thanks

Never even heard of that, I used the XLR8 card ages ago, worked great.

Ive just got an old TV tuner card. Never really been used except to watch TV, i thought id give it a try. It works exceptionally well, quality is amazing! The only problem i have is, that I am using composite leads (1 yellow (video) and 2 audio (L+R White and red)). What i need is a video splitter so i can have 2 yellow leads coming out. The sound is fine becasue i can use it on line in on my PC and have it recording the line in simultaneously.

basically, I need a yellow composite splitter, preferably if its all in one piece (eg 1 female[in] to 2 longer males [out])

looked on amazon, cant find the right piece, any help? i could make some bloody awesome videos if i just knew how (i cant lay it while its recording, on all capture cards theres a noticable lag of about 100ms, makes it a pain to play)

EDIT: my card make is 'lifeview' and i use 'uLead Video Studio 11' for editing and capturing.
