Why believe in religion/god when there is no reason to? There's no empirical of logical proof of God's existance. I've no idea how people can base their beliefs on nothing, other than self generated fear of no after life and social conditioning.

Precisely my opinion, I've got quite a bit more respect for you now.

Woo My mum is ridiculously religious, which is really what drove me away from religion I guess. Because of her strong belief as well I like to deconstruct the bible and her beliefs all the time. Which is all too easy to do. To take the story of Noah for example.... firstly he was like 600 years old. And did noone else in the world have a boat that worked? My mum's answer to that was that the "sinners" that God was punishing were too busy commiting sin and didn't use their boats. Sounds stupid, but that's as good an answer as any Christian will ever give you tbh.

According to Moses, it is God's ruling that every disobient child should be taken out to the gates of their village and be stoned to death.

Where are all the die hard Christians sticking to these mental rules that are God's bidding? You can't just nit pick laws you like from the Bible.
