Upgrades
This will be the first time i've ever upgraded my computer so i'll need some advice. I brought cod4 and the GFX card doesn't support the "separate alpha blend" so that will be the focus of my upgrade. But as I'll want to carry a stable 125 atleast for jumping... everything will need doing.
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+, MMX, 3DNow, 2.1ghz
Memory: 1536MB RAM
GFX Card: GeForce FX 5900XT (maxed out on drivers available)
Sound: Nvidia nforce audio
<3
Oh and my budget... low to mid price range.

Re: Upgrades
I forgot how expensive this stuff is. Cheers for speedy reply
This seems to be the card to go for, unless anyone else has a better suggestion.

Re: Upgrades
keep in mind if you look hard enough you can find stuff really cheap. I got my 8800gt (with copper pipe cooling, stock OC, and extra RAM) for about 70-80 pounds.
I would also suggest 8800gt. But with such an old system, be careful. Make sure your motherboard has at least 1 PCI-E (preferable x16) slot. If it doesn't then you'll be getting everything new. You can't get a new motherboard without getting a new prcoessor and RAM. Also, most likely, in your case, you'll need a new power supply too.

Re: Upgrades
do u want an entirely new pc or just an upgrade for it (topic name suggests upgrade).
What is your budget anyway.. not low to mid, but i need some numbers..
About the 8800gt, its a good card, but outdated, you can get much faster cards for slightly more money. But you should be willing (unlike all the other idiots) to buy an ati card.

Re: Upgrades
its not worth buying a card as fast as an 8800gt with a processor like that.
