CoD5: Why bother?
I personally don't see the point of CoD5. Every release they make kills the previous games. I'm sure most people here prefer vCoD or cod4. CoD4 probably the best game so far, cod5 (unless its a disaster) will do to it what cod2 did to vcod and uo.

Re: CoD5: Why bother?
I prefer UO, and while CoD2 made UO go away, times change. People move on, new games are made. The games that are truly good enough to stand forever do stand forever. Ex: Counter Strike. Call of Duty is not immersive, innovative, and memorable enough to stand through the sequels. Why bother? The world is about progression. It is what drives us (well, in Activision's case, it is money). CoD4 will last a while after CoD5 is out, and tbh, I don't see what the big deal is. I got tired of CoD4 MP a month after its release. There wasn't enough to it to really grab me.

Re: CoD5: Why bother?
It's all about money, really.
If they know we'll buy a new Call of Duty game, they'll release a new one. We could think CoD4 is the best thing in the world, but as long as we'd buy CoD5, they won't care if they ruin CoD4 because at the end of the day we're all gonna buy the new game and they're gonna make their money
Having said that, I think the time period between the game releases is about right. It's not so short that you can't get full enjoyment out of the game, but also it's not too long a period - I'd rather I was constantly entertained rather than getting very bored of a game and having to wait a long time for its sequel to come out.

You guys are just like me, thinking CoD5 will suck. But I'm not pulling any conclusions anymore before the game goes live.

Re: CoD5: Why bother?
Well, Treyarch(guys who made cod3) aren't rookies. Cod3 was actually pretty decent but was frowned upon by most (PC players mostly) because it was only for consoles. I don't think they can screw cod too much, it would just probably feel different when playing imo.
As long as they keep strafe jumping and other jumping techniques I'll be happy.

Re: CoD5: Why bother?
That's also one of the reasons I insisted on a 'bounce jump' category on the site for demos. I really hope they include them for loads of jump possibilities. But if they do include them, it means a lot of bounce jumps which are very hard to do in any standard server.

Re: CoD5: Why bother?
May I ask where this information of them using Infinity Wards engine is, when Treyarch have their own engine called the Treyarch NGL?

Re: CoD5: Why bother?
I checked their source, and saw nothing but words of an author, I want proof not hearsay or potential mistakes.
