Disconnected every 10 or so minutes in CoD4

When I got home from university at Easter, I came across this problem where I'd be disconnected from CoD4 servers (getting the 'Connection Interrupted' message) roughly every 10 minutes or so. I changed a few settings in my router to try and fix it, but to no avail. I then went back to university, and haven't been home since until now, hoping that the problem would no longer exist, but it does.

I've updated the firmware on my (new) router and updated the firmware on my network adapter. I'm using a wireless router.

Any suggestions on how to resolve it would be greatly appreciated. I've tried googling around a lot, but nothing specifically helpful came up. If you need more details then I can provide them.

You can start by using a wire. Wireless (imo) should never be sued for gaming.

I use wireless. And I must say, it sucks big time.

have you tried seeing if you are disconnected on other games to help determine whether it is hardware or software?

Well, I brought the router upstairs and am now connected to it via an Ethernet cable. So far so good, had a long session last night without being disconnected. I'll report back if it happens again.

As for other games, I don't think I could bare playing any other obsolete games for long enough to find out I believe it happened when I played BF2 a few weeks ago, so I don't think it's a Call of Duty specific problem.
