Zante!

Hey everyone, just a quick message to say that as of tomorrow night (well, 4:55am Greece local time) I'll be in Zante (Zakynthos), a small clubbing island (similar to Ibiza, but not as scummy - still pretty bad tho ), and I will be there for 2 weeks.

My flight leaves tomorrow night and I get back on Saturday 21st June at 7am, so I won't be back online until at least that afternoon.

I'll be trying to get to an internet cafe at multiple times during the holiday so I should be able to provide updates etc., but if not then I guess I'll see you all in just over 2 week's time!

Tan - lots of sunbathing / doing **** all on the beach, YES
Six-pack - Lots of alcohol consumed, NO In fact, I'll probably get a negative six pack I'll be doing some sit ups etc. to try and reduce the damage (in terms of flab) caused by the alcohol, but I'm pretty certain I'll come back fatter than I am now.

Anywho, it turns out I was wrong about when I get back. It's the Friday morning, not the Saturday morning, which is good in some ways because it means that even if the plane is delayed I'm OK. Before, if the plan had been delayed then I'd have been screwed because I booked the train for 3 hours after I land in London (10:40am was the last possible train available on that day without any changes, and the plan lands at 7:30am). Now I've got Friday night in London (no surprises what I'm gonna do that night; although I'm likely to be sick of the taste of alcohol by then!).

That doesn't, however, change when I'm gonna get back home, cause my train is still booked for the Saturday, so I won't be fully active again until Saturday afternoon on the 21st.

As I say, if (that's a small if, it's very likely the island will be scattered with internet cafés considering it's a huge British tourist destination of people my age) I get to an internet café then I'll keep you guys updated on how it's gone/going. I probably won't have time to check on any other topics, so if I come online then it'll be on MSN and this topic, and that's all.

Anyway, I arrived in Zante about 7 or 8 hours ago (landed about 5am local time, it's not 1:55pm local time and I've had about 7 units of alcohol already ). Anyway, it's been great so far. The day started pretty shitly - it was wet when we arrived and this morning was pretty wet, but the sun has come out and it's really nice at the moment (been in the pool, sunbathing and playing poker in the sun so far today and it's still pretty early, but then again it would be if we haven't slept at all yet).

I'm looking forward to tonight A LOT, should be great, first night in what's effectively the ever so slightly richer Ibiza destination. Going to get pretty drunk tonight. Unfortunately I haven't been able to take many photos as I need to buy some batteries for my camera.

It's been rather amusing so far, though, we've walked down 'The Strip' and there's countless "British Pubs" and there's also a McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Subway, KFC and a Safeway (although I'm pretty certain it's not the same as the no longer existent UK Safeway!). Either way, the Safeway is bargain for shopping! We bought 6 2L bottles of water for 1.30 euros, which is around 1 british pound.

The exchange rate as it is is pretty shit, and I've spent loads so far (mostly in this 'gold package' with club 18-30 who we booked the holiday with. It should work out very beneficial in the future though, as we've paid 180 euros for what's effectively in total 7 hours of 'free' drinking). Tonight we've got a 1 hour free bar, so it will be a pretty hectic hour I can imagine.

Anyway, I'm currently at an internet cafe about 2 mins walk away from my accommodation which charges 3 euros for 30 minutes, which is pretty steep, so I'll end this post rather soon! I'll be online again for quite a few times over the next few weeks, but I won't be checking anything else on these forums other than this topic, so if you want to contact me then your best bet is to post in this topic or to email my hotmail account.
