Price: Unsure due to it being bundled with phone and TV.
Pros: Great connection, rarely any downtime, pings are great.
Cons: They are soon to introduce P2P monitoring and the '3 strike' rule.
Dude ring them (Virgin)and ask them about the 20-gig upgrade. if ya paying more than £18, like i was on Virgin for a shit 2meg connection ya may get the 20-mbt upgrade for just 5-pence per month.. ya'll get a New Modem and a FRee Wireless router to.
No harm in ringing Virgin Customer support.. In fact if you call, ask for EXT: 6715 and ask for james. he's the one who offered me the upgrade. He said the bill will show £35;00+ but ya get a £18 -credit to your account each month. so ya still be paying the same cost roughtly maybe 5p more for getting a 20-mbt connection. i think this upgrad is if you have all 3 services like i do, but my TV is free i downgraded coz of wife moaning about the bills, butthey game me FREE limited Freeview channels for a year.
So whats 5p -60p per year.lol just about buy a bag of chrisps with that.
The p2p Monitoring could be untrue, coz i asked the Guy james will it effect my Downloads, and he said no i still have unlimited. i downloaded like 5 -7 gigs of PUBLIC DOMAIN movies last nite each around 700-megs per movie, took like 8 mins each movie, normaly took on a 2-mbt connection anythink like 45mins-5 hours for each movie. I be glad when my New modem and Wireless router arrives, may boost my spped more, my modem is a old Webstar black modem , im fluttering between 5-mbts to 19.5mbts, tho i been told this webstar was only ment to take the max of 8mbts
Go on call them get more speed for ya money unless ya happy with 10mbts.. do you get full 10mbt or does it flutter up and down.?
