Maybe he was told it wasn't as bad as it actual was by the control tower? I can't say for sure though, as I'm not him...

Why don't you think he's skilled? He attempted the landing how they are taught to do it, he was just unlucky.

I'd say he nearly killed them if the plane was actually close to crashing, which it wasn't.

I find it hilarious how everyone on youtube are saying he's an awesome pilot and very talented..

He actually did a very good piloting the plane. He came in at an angle and at the same time "glided" with the wind, which takes lots of skills with that much wind.
Sometimes you can't land at another airport, so you've got to try with what you've got.

Yes, you can land a plane at a 30+ degree angle, if you use the rudder.. which he didn't.

And to make that landing using the rudder you need to be directly over the runway, which he wasn't.

And you can't say "well it's because it was windy", because the point of making a landing like that is because it's windy.

And yes he did put 250 peoples lives in danger, if he had landed where he actually had gone down (which was on the grass),

He would have smashed the nose into the ground because he, once again, didn't use the rudder...

And a plane wouldn't be limited to one airport, or be limited the fuel allowance so much that he HAS to land on the chartered airport.

Yeah thats true, if the conditions were that bad he shouldn't have even attempted to land. But maybe the plane didn't have enough fuel to get to the next airport or something.

Planes always have plenty of fuel in case they have to land somewhere else - it'd be stupid to only take enough fuel to get to the destination, cause if something happens then you're pretty screwed.
