[Solved] Error when running new map
I made a new cod2 map, which is finished so I made an IWD file. I tried to run the map and i got this error :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<ExceptionReport Version="4">
<Application Build="29580" Command=""C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\cod2mp_s.exe" "/>
<OperatingSystem Type="2"><Version Major="5" Minor="1" Build="2600"/></OperatingSystem>
<Exception Code="C0000005" Address="02A56635"><Module Section="0001" Offset="00015635" FileName="C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\gfx_d3d_mp_x86_s.dll"/></Exception>

Here is a screeny of the error:

Since it is an 'xfire error' I turned of xfire and tried again, and my cod2 crashed.
Any ideas regarding this error? Any fixes?

Its hard to tell, but I am gonna guess you have a mapping error or bad compile. Delete your old compiles and try again. Make sure everything is working (such as CoD2) before you run the map (load stock settings and stock map) then recompile and try again.

Firstly make sure your map is not leaking.
And secondly, are there any errors during compile?
(fast compile will still compile the light entities, just with little detail).
Have you set all the properties (key/values) in the entity window correctly.
Have you tried placing a light next to a dark wall to confirm if it is indeed not working.
Post images of your map while the light are not "working".

Ok, so I found out what causes to lights not working problem.
I put the light in a lightpost model. When I turn on modelshadow in the compile options it only shines on the inside of the model, so there is no more light to be seen from the outside.
Now im looking for a way to place the light outside the model without causing any strange shadows at the model, if I cant find any Im just gonna compile without modelshadows (its only noticable in one spot in the map).
