I thought he was saying they're making a CoD4 mod to make it seem like CoD1, and that the image was what they have done so far (which seems doubtful).

ok, NM has uploaded this picture to codfiles.

From reading several comments the basicidea about this is that he has sharpen up the graphics a lot. CoD4 graphics in CoD1.

Call of duty 4 engine running Call of duty 1 game. That's what the image is, Look infront of the tree, there were no grass like that in call of duty 1

It looked good, but in no way did I think it was real/CoD4, it looks like CoD1 with a graphics boost (and as KS said, too much sharpening, and also a little too much blur).
