Post by celticrobbo » January 13th, 2008, 12:07 pm

Hi all,

Looking for some assistance.

I know you guys are more concerned with massive jumps and scaling buildings etc but wonder if anyone has any tips for getting up here,

My FPS is fine just dont think im getting the timing correct.

Any help would be appreciated, i am aware it can be done from the helicopter but thats too noisey

Hmm never thought of it that way.

The way ive seen it done is sprinting over the first pallet and jumping at a certain point.

Have also done it myself that way, but not sure if it was a fluke or if there is a good way to do it

I havn't even played cod4, but jumping from the barrells looks way too far.

If the crate is at a slant and you can sort of "slide" up it, then use a strafe jump when doign this. It will give you more speed/height to get up.

You are correct, cant do it everytime as im not a very good jumper but certainly a lot easier that way.

Cheers

I always said... A jump is a jump, no matter how small it is.

Is "jump" a euphemism? :P

That jump is really simple. Just take some speed and jump up from in front of it.

Its an easy jump without the barrel. The barrel is a lot harder as you need to jump with a lot of accuracy and distance.

Tips for jumping up a slope...

- Jump before you hit the object. If you hit the object before jumping you will not have any movement speed, therefore no forward momentum...
- Strafe and flick mouse upwards, like any jump, strafing will make you move faster, the faster you move the further the distance you travel, in this case, upwards. The upwards flick is also a way of gaining additional speed.
- If your fps is struggling, keep your eyes on the ground until you press your jump key.

Two problems with this...

1: If someone is camping the other side, they have an advantage...
2: Its CoDJumping, practicality has no meaning here. A jump is a jump, it doesn't matter what comes of it.
