I didn't realise the ads were real at first, but someone linked me to the 'making of' videos ages ago (might have been KillerSam, actually).

Yep, they were. And many of the balls were missed and many people got a free bouncy ball if they found one

I tried making a clay mation movie once, it went for 40 seconds and took me a week to get perfect (lighting etc)
