msn virus on its way
THERE IS AN MSN VIRUS COMING AROUND FAST
It poses as the person and says something like 'I saw a pic of you on this website! check it out!'
or
'My mate slammed his car into a tree! i got a pic on my cellphone.'
THIS IS A VIRUS
In 2 minutes it spreaded through me and 10 or 15 others
It is an exe that resends it to all the other people on your list
Do not accept it.

This has already existed in the past, not anything new or recent. Simple answer: don't accept files from friends unless they tell you about it in detail.

It installs itself onto your computer and sends a message to everyone on your friend list about a link they should go to (which is the link to the virus).
The victim doesn't know that his computer sent a bunch of messages to everyone, so usually, when you ask about the link, they won't know what you are talking about.
Its just like a worm, jumping from one computer to another spreading around.
Other than that, I do not know of any other risks it could have.

Ok, so if you are 100% sure that this is a virus that can kill your comp, you will have to do more than just end the process.jimbojetuk wrote:Nightmare wrote:It installs itself onto your computer and sends a message to everyone on your friend list about a link they should go to (which is the link to the virus).

You will have to find the exe file and delete it. Also, I am thinking that the file installed itself somewhere in the maze of registries, but I have no idea where it could be.
Search around on google, I am sure you can find some helpful directions of getting rid of that bug
