Why I hate Youtube

To whom it may concern,

I would like to ask if my account (username Pedsdude) can be reopened. I am aware that some of my videos went against copyright rules, but I thought the offending videos had been removed and none of the videos on my account broke any copyright laws.

From your website:
"Respect copyright. Only upload videos that you made or that you have obtained the rights to use. This means don't upload videos you didn't make, or use content in your videos that someone else owns the copyright to, such as music tracks, snippets of copyrighted programs, or videos made by other users, without their permission."

When I initially uploaded some of my videos, I believed them to be acceptable, because I recorded them myself - they weren't recorded off the TV, they were recorded at the event by my camera. Since the original removal of some of my videos, I became aware that even though I had taken them myself, they still broke copyright laws.

From your website:
"Repeat infringers' videos are removed and their accounts are terminated and permanently blocked from using YouTube."

Since the removal of some of my videos, I have not uploaded any videos which I believe to have broken copyright laws. I was under the impression that because some of my videos had been removed, the remaining videos on my account were acceptable (although evidently, they weren't).

I did not intend to break any copyright laws by uploading some of my videos (not all of the videos on my account broke copyright laws), and because of the fact that I did not upload any further copyright infringing football videos after the initial ones were removed, I wouldn't refer to myself as a "repeat infringer".

Please could you shed some light on the matter. I did not intend to break copyright laws by uploading my videos, nor was I aware that I was doing so at the time.

Well, thats a half-arsed answer if ever I have seen one.

Reply back, accepting the fact you will never get your account back (which, is the case), and ask for a reply on the subject of WHY the infringing videos were left on your account after the "first offence" as those videos should have been removed.

Tell them their policy of banning without proper warning is stupid and that you will simply open up a new account under a similar name.

Also see if they can reinstate some of your videos which were removed and did NOT break copyright (Im 99% sure they will decline).

It's simply not worth the effort imo. I'm not getting my account back, so I no longer care. If they reinstated the non-copyright-infringing videos then they would have to re-activate my account, which they said they would not do.

The way I see it now, I'm not getting my account back, so going further into it is a waste of my time, plus I have another YouTube account anyway which I will now use, and I'd rather not draw attention to that fact considering they state somewhere on their website that people with banned accounts are not allowed to create new accounts.

The only problem, is that they have a limit of 350 characters including spaces in the contact form. I initially wrote a detailed message about my situation, but had to cut down a significant amount of it to 349 characters. I've still had no reply - what are the chances of them replying to me if I e-mail them directly, do you reckon?

Email the copyright team, they are obviously at their computer banning people >.>...

The bastards. They it there all day just banning people, I cant understand whats wrong. It isnt copyright cause noone has 'taxed' it to be theirs (only peds in this case) sure enough if it was fromsky sports etc maybe but all this cause of some goals cause he's a loyal supporter. If i put up some burnley goals i recorded and i got my acc. banned id be pissed off cause its MY video and noone elses.

My videos were actual videos taken from games with my camera, not clips from TV.

Because it's taken from a Premiership game, technically I'm breaking copyright laws for putting it up on the internet (and YouTube, it seems).
