Place a map on a server

Hey, it's me again :S

I got a other question...

When i download new maps there is like 5 maps calles : images, maps, mp, materails....
do i need to put them al on the server or just the map? alone?

you need the *.iwd; dont extract the *.iwd just put the *.iwd in the mainfolder

oh i think i get your problem, this happened with me! Are you using internet explorer? If you are, use mozilla for the downloads.

No, I dont think you place these on the server, if I downloaded on internet explorer, chances are it would be an RAR file with the folders in it. With mozilla, it directly downloads the iwd. If you are using internet explorer though:

1) Download and install winzip

2) drag a box round all the folders.

3) right click and select winzip.

4) Click add to zip file

5) Where it says add to archive, change the last bit of the name to mapname.iwd

No, don't use winzip for that. You need winrar.

winzip or winrar, i found winzip worked better for this. With winRAR, sometimes i got currpot iwds etc. but winZIP ive not any problems.

Just download IZArc

it owns both Winzip and Winrar 10-0.

Thanks guys,,, i downloaded FirefoX and it works now...

for the people how have trouble downloading maps. Try Mozilla Firefox

Don't ask me.

Firefox is much saver then the crappy IE, I highly suggest to switch.

I dno, i prefer IE a lot, for the interface. It seems easier to use, but mozilla is my dl manager...
