Martins!

Post by Pedsdude » October 14th, 2006, 10:43 pm

I met Martins a few hours ago :D

Got his autograph: http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/6810 ... ureso6.jpg

It appears to be a few ovals, a number 9 and what looks like SS to the right (don't know really tbh Razz). Shook his hand and asked if he's playing tomorrow, to which I got a response that I didn't really understand, but I think what he was trying to say is that he will be doing so if Roeder plays him.

Anyway, I'm very chuffed, my friend who's met Luque twice is very jealous, I would definately want to meet Martins once instead of Luque twice ;) :D

I'll try my best :P

I have lived on the same road as Alan Shearer (£15 million, Premiership's all-time top goalscorer) for the past 7 years of my life, have a framed signed shirt of his

I have been Fan of the Day for Newcastle United

I met Martins (£10 million, previously played for Inter Milan), got his autograph and shook his hand.

Nobody cares about Zenden (:P), Maldini isn't as good as Shearer (although he is very good), and Rivaldo is good I'll give you that ;)

I watched Man United vs Arsenal FA Cup Final in one of the writers of TV Series M*A*S*H London house, which was also next door to one of klinsmann's houses, and I can honestly say it was the richest house I have ever been in (you walk through the door and greeted by a 4m x 3m stone wallpiece that must of cost some cash :P

I also used to live next to Julian Clary

You and ur newcastle point of view. Now a not newcastle point of view.

Martins: supstitude player at intermilan who never scored great amount of goals. Never won any prizes with newcastle or inter milan

Shearer: good player. Premiership's all-time top goalscorer.. Not that strange if u play in the same league as a forward player for over a decade. Same as martins, never won any national prizes, no european prizes and no prizes with the national team.

Rivaldo: (22,7 million euro) bought by fc barcalona, won 2 national titels with barca and won europeans best player award and worlds best player award. He moved to AC milan and won champions league with that team.
Winner of 2 'copa america's' and became topscorer at one of the tournaments and winner of 1 worldcup with brasil. He also lost one worldcup final.

Maldini: Played for AC milan for 22 seasons and claimed national titel 7 times, won 4 champions leagues and won 2 worldcups with AC milan, he was captain of that team for a long time. He is record holder in italy's national team with 126 appearances. He played one european championship final.

Zenden: Played for PSV 4 seasons and claimed 1 national titel, then moved to FC barcalona, played there for 3 seasons and claimed 1 national titel. (Indeed less impressive, but won more prizes as martins and shearer together :P)

Didn't have anything else to hand unfortunately, so it was better than nothing ;)

Martins has only been at Newcastle for a few games and has already scored 3 goals. He had a scoring record of 1 in every 3 games he played for Inter Milan, which is bloody good.

The fact that Shearer played in the Premiership so long is a credit to himself as a player. During that time he faced career-ending injuries, but managed to bounce back where others would have failed. It is widely accepted that he was (now that he's retired :P) one of the greatest players of all time, not just because of his record of all-time top goalscorer. He was England's main striker for a long period of time and played very well for England, despite not winning anything with them.

So what if they haven't won any trophies? It all depends on who an individual is playing with. Of course Rivaldo is going to win trophies if he's playing for Barcelona with other world class players. If Ronaldinho played for a very poor team and never won any trophies that wouldn't take away the fact that he is one of the best players in the world. You wouldn't say that just because he won no trophies with the poor team that he was shit at football. At the same time you could say that a substitute for Barcelona who didn't play could 'technically' have won a trophy with the team, but he's no better than the brilliant player who plays for a lower-quality club.

Theyre good players, but u make it sould they're better then maldini and rivaldo.. Which they obviously arent.

And if ronaldinho plays for a crap team (lets say ajax :P) He would still win prizes probably.

It's just personal satisfaction. Something to say you met such and such a person.
