in some circumstances yes. To do that:
1. Select your brush
2. press N until a little window comes up
3. at the bottom should be a place to enter a "key" and value"
4. under key type targetname
5. and under value type the name you want to give it
6. press enter to set the values
this is usually associated with things like script_brushmodels. dont forget to right click and set the entity as well.
